Where tradition
meets innovation

As friends and professionals with several years of experience in the field, we recognized the unique potential of kveik yeast cultures used for centuries by Nordic farmers to create distinct and flavorful beers.

Our journey

How our
journey began

Our journey began with a shared passion for brewing and microbiology. With deep respect for tradition and a commitment to quality, we embarked on a mission to bring these ancient yeast cultures to modern brewers worldwide.

Traditional

Our traditional farmhouse kveik yeast cultures are nurtured in their natural environment with pure malt, which helps preserve their authentic behavior.

Multistrain cultures

Unlike isolated strains, our multi-strain kveik cultures work together to create a unique, complex aroma.

How our strains are made

From start to end fresh

Our yeast culture production follows a time-honored, traditional process. We use only malt and the yeast culture itself, ensuring the strains remain in their pure, original condition. Our Kveik yeast strains are particularly well-suited for air drying, which makes them easy to preserve and maintain their unique characteristics.

Why brewers use our strains

Roland

Voss kveik

"A mild floral aroma is noticeable when cold, but as it warms in theglass, a stronger floral-citrusy scent emerges. I found the Voss variation tohave a much cleaner taste, performing almost similarly to the BRY-97 originally written in the recipe"

George

Ebbergarden kveik

"Strong tropical aroma, almost like tutti-frutti (I’m not exactly sure what papaya smells like, but I think this is it!). The yeast really brings out a burst of fruity complexity, with hints of mango and pineapple, and leaves a clean, crisp finish."

Mark

Skare kveik

"The first time I used it was in an American wheat lager. It says a lot that there was kräusen about six hours after pitching. I missed the top cropping, but I managed to save around 3-4 grams of relatively clean yeast from the bottom, which I then used in a Czech lager."
